Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin started his inspection in Delta districts for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. Stalin took stock of the desilting works in Mayiladuthurai and Thirukadaiyur on Tuesday.

On Monday, Stalin in a tweet said, "Although I travel all over Tamil Nadu, I get goosebumps the moment I enter my motherland, the Delta districts. As Mettur water was released in May for Kuruvai cultivation, I am inspecting the works. The inspection will continue even tomorrow (Tuesday)."

The CM is on his two-day inspection in Delta districts. He started his inspections by taking stock of the Kuruvai cultivation, ongoing desilting works and other construction works in the district.  


On Monday, the Chief Minister inspected the irrigational channels in Thanjavur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai.


He flew to Trichy around 12.30 pm from Chennai. The CM also made a surprise visit to Trichy Corporation office and received petitions from the people who came for the grievance day meet. He also enquired about the annual budget tabled on Monday and inspected the health department. 


He also instructed the officials to cater to the needs of the people including providing drinking water connections, birth/death certificates and building approvals.  


From Trichy, he visited Vadapathy Kokkeri in Papanasam taluk and took stock of the desilting works in Beemanodai canal at the cost of Rs 14.50 lakh.

Later, he then went to Velankanni in Nagappattinam and halted in Velankanni.

Meanwhile, as per schedule, Stalin will visit Kattur in Tiruvarur around 1 pm on Tuesday. He will also have lunch and leave to Thanjavur district.
