Chennai: Two unidentified persons hurled petrol bombs at Kamalalayam, Tamil Nadu BJP’s headquarters, in T Nagar at 1 am on Thursday. There were no occupants in the building so none suffered any injuries.
However, the incident during the run-up for urban local body polls on February 19 has created tense moments in the campaign field.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, the police have arrested Vinoth on Thursday. The history-sheeter Vinoth has already been accused of throwing petrol bomb at TASMAC shop.
However, the BJP blamed the Tamil Nadu government for the incident. Talking to ANI, BJP's Karate Thyagarajan said, "A petrol bomb was hurled at our office around 1:30 am. We have informed the police and the BJP cadre will not get afraid of such things."

Further, Thyagarajan alleged, "A similar incident took place 15 years ago with DMK's role in it. We condemn the Tamil Nadu government (role) for this incident."
The BJP cadre gathered outside the office and is demanding action against the culprits.

A similar incident was reported in Coimbatore in March 2018. Two unidentified persons hurled a petrol bomb at the office of the BJP in Coimbatore. Following the incident, police arrested three persons in connection with the incident. They arrested Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam worker Balu and two others.
