Chennai: The family members of Rajasekar, who died in the custody of police on June 12, refused to take his body after autopsy on Friday. The family took to the protest with a demand for the cops to hand over the videotape of the autopsy.
According to a report on Times of India, the family started to demand the autopsy report reportedly since it revealed that Rajasekar did not succumb to injuries but he could have died due to cardiac arrest or other unnatural causes.
However, North Chennai additional CoP TS Anbu said that they are still awaiting the final report regarding the death of Rajasekar from the doctors, the report added.
Rajasekar was arrested on June 11 for an investigation related to 27 criminal cases including robbery, theft and attempt to murder cases pending against him. However, he- complained of dizziness and died the next day.

After the death, Kodungaiyur police claimed that Rajasekar complained of dizziness and was taken to a private hospital but the doctors told them to rush him to Stanley GH. However, upon reaching Stanley GH, the doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Therefore, the family alleged that there was foul play in the death.

Following this, City police commissioner Shankar Jiwal transferred the case to Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) for probe. He also ordered to register a case under Section 176 of CCPr in connection with the death.
Meanwhile, CB-CID is also investigating the alleged custodial death of V Vignesh who died in the custody of Secretariat Colony police in April.
