A day after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) withdrew Rs 2,000 notes from circulation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday, said that it’s a single trick to hide the defeat in Karnataka.
The RBI announced the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes from circulation on Friday. The RBI said until September 30 the notes can be deposited or exchanged in the banks. However, only Rs 20,000 can be changed at a time. It also instructed the banks to stop issuing Rs 2,000 notes. However, RBI said that the notes will continue to be legal tender.
On Saturday, CM Stalin taking to social media said, "500 doubts, 1000 Mysteries, 2000 errors!, To hide defeat in Karnataka, Single trick! #2000Note #Demonetisation."

The statement of Stalin comes on the day he is set to take part in the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka CM designate Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Saturday. Stalin through a private flight flew to Bengaluru on Friday to take part in the ceremony.
Stalin was invited by Siddaramaiah and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to attend the ceremony. The Congress in May 10 election scored a massive victory by bagging 135 seats while BJP and JD(S) secured 66 and 19 seats respectively.
However, soon after the tweet by TN CM, Tamil Nadu BJP started to accuse the DMK over liquor deaths. TN BJP chief Annamalai quoting TN CM Stalin's tweet said, "22 deaths due to spurious liquor, compensation of Rs 50,000 to the person responsible for the loss of lives, DMK-run liquor factories, Tasmac revenue of Rs 50,000 crores and to hide these you will run in search of Tamil. Is it affection? Everything is cloak!"
