Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji, who was admitted to the Government Multispeciality Hospital in Omandurar after he suffered chest pain during questioning by Enforcement Directorate, has been advised to undergo a CABG Bypass Surgery at the earliest. The Minister was given advice by doctors after he underwent a Coronary Angiogram on Wednesday.
The report has also revealed that the Minister has triple vessel disease.
In a note, the Directorate of Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital in Omandurar said, "Hon'ble Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise duty Mr.Senthil Balaji, 47 years male underwent Coronary Angiogram at 10.40 AM on 14.06.2023.”
“Coronary Angiogram revealed triple vessel disease for which CABG Bypass Surgery is advised at the earliest,” he said.

Last night, V Senthil Balaji broke down after ED officials took him into custody in connection with a money laundering case and brought him to Omandurar Government in Chennai for medical examination. The Minister was reportedly suffering from chest discomfort and was in pain.
After the admission, Rapid Action Force was deployed at Omandurar government hospital in Chennai. The DMK called the arrest illegal and unconstitutional. DMK Rajya Sabha MP NR Elango said, "Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji was picked up by ED & brought to Omandurar govt hospital."
Senthil Balaji was picked up in a money laundering case that took place during AIADMK rule. Senthil Balaji was named as an accused in the scam that reportedly took place between 2011 and 2015. He was the then Transport Minister of TN in late former CM Jayalalithaa's cabinet.
