Sanatan Dharma Row: Security has been beefed up outside the residence of Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in Chennai after day after he was given a death threat over his 'Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated' remark. A video posted by ANI shows police officials outside Udhayanidhi Stalin's house. Notably, on Monday, Ayodhya seer Paramhans Acharya announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for beheading CM MK Stalin's son over his alleged remarks against 'Sanatan Dharma', reported PTI.
"I will pay Rs 10 crore cash reward to anyone who beheads Stalin and brings his head to me. If no one dares to kill Stalin, I will myself find him and kill him," Paramhans Acharya, the chief priest of the Tapaswi Chawni temple of Ayodhya, was quoted as saying by the agency.
Notably, Stalin, the Tamil Nadu youth welfare minister, alleged that 'Sanatan Dharma' is against equality and social justice, and that it should be "eradicated". Stalin also likened 'Sanatan Dharma' to coronavirus, malaria, and dengue fever and said such things should not be opposed but destroyed.
According to PTI, the seer had in the past made similar declarations over Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya's comments on Ramcharitmanas and over Shahrukh Khan for showing saffron attire in his blockbuster movie Pathaan.
"Sanatan Dharma neither has a beginning nor an end. It has never been destroyed and can never be destroyed," he said. Udhayanidhi Stalin has been receiving massive criticism from BJP and Hindi bodies for his remarks against 'Sanatan Dharma'. The remark has apparently created problems for the opposition's I.N.D.I.A alliance as well.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday stated that every religion has separate sentiment, and "we should not be involved in any matter which might hurt a section of people," news agency PTI reported.
