This celebration of country's unity is also fulfilling the dreams of lakhs of freedom fighters whose sacrificed their lives to see 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'.”
We have been nurturing the tradition of the 'Sangam' since centuries, PM said adding that our country encapsulates and celebrates diversity right from her Faith to Spirituality. “We celebrate different languages, different arts, different cultures, religions and customs,” he said.
Modi said: “Just like the convergence of streams gives rise to creation of a Sangam, our Kumbhs have been the Sangams for ideas and cultures of our diversities. Every such thing has played an immensely significant role in shaping us, our country. Such is the power of the Sangam!”
“Through this great Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamam, we are revisiting the priceless memories of the Past, visiting the affinity and experiences of the Present, and resolutions and inspirations for the Future!” he said.
The Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam that began on April 17 is set to end on April 26 (Wednesday) at Somnath. The 10-day confluence witnessed more than 3000 Saurashtrain Tamils attending the event in Gujarat. The event was mainly held to celebrate the links between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
