Chennai: NC Chief Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that Stalin and DMK have done very well to see the nation's unity and he hopes that the same trend will continue to establish a happy nation. Farooq Abdullah is currently in Chennai to attend TN CM Stalin’s 70th birthday celebrations.
Farooq Abdullah, on DMK's push for opposition unity said, "It's a wonderful beginning. Stalin and DMK have done very well to see nation's unity. India is unity in diversity. If you protect diversity, you'll protect unity. So, from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari, they're trying to unite India."
"I hope it will further strengthen and I hope other leaders will also think in the same terms and we have a happy nation," he said.
When asked about the chances of Stalin becoming the Prime Minister, the NC chief asked what was wrong with it.

Apart from Farooq Abdullah, national leaders including Leader of Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and UP ex-CM Akhilesh Yadav have arrived in Chennai for attending the 70th birthday celebration of MK Stalin organised by DMK.
However, the stage ahead of the Parliamentary Elections next year is viewed as a show of unity. The parties are also expected to form the biggest Opposition to bring down the BJP-led government at the Centre.
In 2019, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee unveiled the statue of former TN CM M Karunanidhi on his first death anniversary at Murasoli office.
