'Superstar' Rajinikanth clarified that it was his habit to touch the feet of yogis or sanyasis even if they were younger in order to take their blessings after facing backlash for touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath while visiting him at his residence in Lucknow recently. Jailer hero was quick to make the clarification after landing in Chennai. Rajini was on a trip to Uttar Pradesh where he met several political leaders and offered prayers at Hanuman Gahri Temple in Ayodhya.


On Monday, Rajinikanth reached Chennai after concluding his visit to Uttar Pradesh. While addressing the reporters at the airport, Rajinikanth responding to a question on whether it was a political visit said, "I went there to meet my friends, it was a wonderful visit."


On the controversy surrounding over touching the feet of UP CM, Rajinikanth said, “It is my habit to touch the feet of Yogis or Sanyasis and take their blessings, even if they are younger to me, I have done that only.”






 


To the question on the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Rajini said, "Excellent. Superb. Magnificent."


As part of his visit, Rajinikanth saw Jailer movie with UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. He also met Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and paid a visit to Surya Command. During the visit, he lauded the service of the Indian Army and interacted with the members of all ranks.


Meanwhile, Jailer smashed box office records and crossed over Rs 500 crore in gross box-office collections worldwide.
