Chennai: A migrant labourer from Assam passed away hours before his flight and his body was left on the road near Chennai Airport on Saturday until police reached the spot. A migrant labourer from Assam, Deepak Paul was working in a construction site in Pallavaram for the past two years.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, Deepak Paul decided to return to his hometown in Assam from Chennai and booked a flight ticket at 3.55 pm earlier this week. Then Deepak went on to wait for the flight in the waiting room of the airport. However, suddenly Paul suffered from fissures and the airport authorities rushed to the spot to help him. Later, they took him in an ambulance to Chrompet Government Hospital.
After the treatment, the report said that Deepak Paul's health condition started to improve and he decided to return to Assam on Saturday morning.
Just as planned Deepak Paul reached the airport on Saturday but his health started to deteriorate and soon he passed away on the way to the hospital. Therefore, he was brought back to the airport and was placed on the road infront of the airport until the police arrived at the spot.
However, till then, the corpse was not covered with a cloth or was taken inside even while it was raining in the area even though some of the guards were standing near the corpse, said the report.
After some time, the Meenambakkam police reached the spot and took the body to Pallavaram Government Hospital for autopsy.
