The temperature is likely to increase across Tamil Nadu in the coming days, as per the weather predictions of the Indian Meteorological Centre and the weatherman. 


According to Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai, "Gradual rise in max temp over Tamilnadu. As of 17:30 IST of 12.04.23, max temp was above normal by 2-3°C at Erode, Karur Paramathi, Tirupattur & Thondi areas. Highest max temp - Tirupattur: 40.2°C, followed by Erode: 40.0°C, Chennai-NBK: 35.1°C and MBK: 36.6°C."



On Wednesday, IMD issued a temperature warning that the maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 2-3 °C at isolated pockets over Tamilnadu.


For the next 24 hours, IMD said that in Chennai the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy with maximum temperature around 35 °C and minimum temperature around 25 °C.


An independent weather blogger running Chennai Rains social media handle said, "As #Summer tightens it's grip over #India no immediate respite likely from the heat. Interior #TamilNadu may see max temp touch 40°C while suburbs of #Chennai may see temp touch 38 / 39°C #COMK. #TNWeather #Weather.”

“While IMD has not issued a #Heatwave warning for AP & TS states parts of #AndhraPradesh &  #Telangana will continue to see extremely hot afternoons. Avoid stepping out during this time, if your job involves travelling during the afternoon hours stay hydrated and take adequate precautions,” it said.
