Chennai: A delegation of AIADMK leaders led by Tamil Nadu Opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami met Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Wednesday. During the meeting, the leaders apprised the Governor of the alleged failure of law and order issues.

After the meeting, EPS told reporters, “The Coimbatore bomb blast could have been avoided. By some grace, the incident took place when there was no public nearby and a major untoward event was avoided. The intel forces could have definitely tracked the terror attack. However, they failed to flag it.”

On Kallakurichi student’s death, EPS said, “A Class 12 died on July 13 under mysterious circumstances. The police and district administration failed to act on the complaint till July 17. If the agencies have acted on it then an arson would not have happened.”

Nextly, he said, “Usage of drugs is on the rise among students. The government also fails to control the menace. Commission, collection and corruption is the Dravidian model and it’s in force in the state. In all departments, corruption is on the rise.”

As a result, EPS said that they have submitted a plea to act on the issues to the Governor. AIADMK also appraised on the alleged issues such as shortage of medicine including antibiotics, rabies vaccination and IV fluids, and alleged scams while printing banners.

Earlier, it may be recalled that DMK and allies had urged to recall Tamil Nadu Governor due to the administration tussle between the Governor and the state government.

The meet has also come at a time when the state has witnessed two back-to-back killings due to caste rivalry in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
