In the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung, people and canines were seen on roads wading through knee-deep waters in the inundated streets of Chennai. In various areas, such as Perumbakkam, Perambur, and Velachery, individuals found themselves stranded in waters that exceeded knee-deep levels. Their wait for boat services to rescue them continued as they grappled with the prolonged absence of electricity, drinking water, and mobile connectivity for over three days. Additionally, some families faced the stark reality of lacking essential supplies, including milk and food.

Many users on the social media platform 'X' shared videos of residential areas still surrounded by stagnant water, asserting that many residents remained stranded. The hashtag #Velachery gained traction on the microblogging site, as users expressed concern over family members and relatives confined to their homes without power, drinking water, and milk for the past three days.
Reports surfaced of delays in milk supply, particularly in affected areas like Velachery and Tambaram, with residents alleging overpricing. Power restoration remained elusive in several parts of the city, including Kilpauk, Velachery, Perungudi, Perambur, Perumbakkam, and Kattupakkam.
Despite the challenges, the state government assured that relief efforts were in full swing. In many affected areas, people were reportedly being rescued using inflatable boats, even during the midnight hours. The Greater Chennai Corporation's senior officials were actively overseeing rescue and relief operations, according to the civic agency.
The government was also simultaneously involved in rescuing senior citizens, pregnant women and newborn across Chennai.
Meanwhile, flight services in the airport have resumed without any disruptions in operations.
