They retrieved CCTV footage that appeared like the woman was pushed out of the SUV. However, as per the Indian Express, the investigation revealed that the woman was stuck in a Scorpio car that came from Tiruvallur. The driver did not have any intention to kill the woman. Hence, the police narrowed down and found that she was hit by another vehicle and only her body was stuck under the Scorpio SUV moving near the body on the road.

The cops saw more visuals and finally zeroed down on the Innova car after finding a piece of saree on the Innova car at a repair shop. Following this, the police found that the saree matched with the clothing of the deceased and confirmed that the Innova car ran over her before her death.
