Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the 13th Vande Bharat Express train which will operate between Chennai and Coimbatore at Chennai MGR Central Railway Station on Saturday. The newly-inaugurated Vande Bharat Express will operate between the two cities on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 


The express train is likely to cover the distance in 5.50 hours which is 1.20 hours faster than the normal train. The train will operate at a speed of 130 Kmph.

The PM was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Governor RN Ravi.


Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express Rate:


The Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express (Train No-20643) will ply passengers at the cost of Rs 1,365 of which Rs 308 is for catering services. However, the passengers can also opt out of the catering service, as per a report on The Mint. 


The Executive class ticket on the train will be around Rs 2,845 of which Rs 369 is for catering. 


The Chair Car of the Express Train 20644 will be Rs 1,215 along with Rs 157 for catering. The Executive Class will be Rs 2,310 of which Rs 190 will be charged for catering. 


PM Modi also flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express train. PM boarded a train at the railway station and spoke with the students. The Vande Bharat Express will reduce the time taken for travel between Secunderabad and Tirupati by 3 and a half hours. The train service connecting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is expected to help the locals and pilgrims, said the report on The Mint.
