At least five people, including four members of the same family from Villapuram in Tamil Nadu's Madurai, were killed after a speeding SUV collided with a motorbike at Sivarakottai near Tirumangalam on the Virudhunagar-Madurai highway, Madurai district SP Arvind said, as reported by news agency PTI. The footage of the incident surfaced, which shows that man on a parked motorcycle narrowly missed by the metal debris of the SUV.






According to Madurai district Superintendent of Police, Aravind, "The incident took place when a speeding SUV collided with a moped at Sivarakottai near Tirumangalam on the Virudhunagar-Madurai highway," as quoted by ANI. The official further stated that four of the five deceased belonged to the same family and hailed from the Villapuram neighbourhood in Madurai.


In another incident, two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were killed and one sustained injuries in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district,, ANI reported on Wednesday, citing an official. The accident took place at New City Tiraha near Nanakhedi in the district Late at night on Tuesday. Those who died were identified as Anand Raghuvanshi (Magarana) and Kamlesh Yadav. The injured has been identified as Manoj Dhakad and he is undergoing treatment.


City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Guna, Jyoti Umath told ANI, "An accident occurred at New City Tiraha in the district on Tuesday night. There were three people on a vehicle (two-wheeler) and due to the accident, two people lost their lives and one sustained injuries. The car through which they met with the accident has been taken into custody and the accused (two persons) have been arrested."
