A speeding car killed a horse after hitting a horse-drawn buggy on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat. The collision was so intense that it sent the flung horse several feet away from where the incident occurred. The accident took place around 9 am on Monday, the car also hit and injured several people.


According to several reports, the accident was caught on CCTV, showing a car speeding in the left lane of the highway while a horse-drawn buggy approached the highway from the left.


As per India Today, the injured were rushed to the district hospital, where all are currently undergoing treatment.


As the animal reached the highway it was hit by the racing car and the horse died in the accident. The vehicle's bonnet and bumper were crushed as the car skidded off the road and crashed into a truck several metres away.


In a separate incident, two people died and another was injured when their car rammed into a hill in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla.


The accident occurred on NH5 near Rampur Bushahr when Kaku Singh, the driver, Raju and Amar Singh were en route Narkanda from Duttnagar. The driver lost control of the vehicle as they reached near Bhera Khad and it collided with a hill, according to PTI.


Upon receiving information, a police team reached the spot and rescued the injured who was taken to Mahatma Gandhi Medical Services Complex in Khaneri. The bodies were also taken for postmortem.


Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that a case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving), 125(a) (causing hurt), 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and further investigation in the matter is underway, as per the report.
