For the past few days, the residents of Uttar Pradesh have been grappling with intense heat and humidity, finding little respite indoors or outdoors. The intermittent sunshine amidst the clouds has only added to their discomfort. However, a shift in the weather pattern began on Tuesday, bringing a glimmer of hope. On Wednesday, parts of western UP, like Noida and Ghaziabad saw heavy a downpour.


According to the Meteorological Department, the coming week, too, will see rain accompanied by thunderstorms across many parts of western Uttar Pradesh. However, eastern Uttar Pradesh is not expected to see any significant relief from the prevailing heat and humidity.


The Lucknow Center of the Meteorological Department announced on Wednesday that rain and thunderstorms are likely in various parts of eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. However, some regions in eastern UP will continue to experience hot and humid conditions. The department earlier issued an alert over the possibility of heavy rain with lightning and thunderstorms in many areas of western UP on Tuesday.


UP Weather Forecast for the Next Five Days


Over the next five days, thunderstorms are expected in western UP and occasionally in eastern UP, though no specific warnings have been issued. On July 25th, thunderstorms and lightning are anticipated in many areas of both western and eastern UP. Rain is forecasted for different locations in western UP on July 26 and 27. Similarly, rain showers are expected to continue in western UP on July 28 and 29.


In the last 24 hours, the monsoon rain was normal in western UP. Rainfall was recorded in Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Meerut, Bijnor, Agra, Nagina, and surrounding areas. However, the state capital Lucknow, along with Kanpur and Ayodhya, saw only light cloud movement with no significant rain.


Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several Districts


Areas of Agra, Firozabad, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, and Lalitpur are expected to get heavy rainfall on Wednesday. Several places in Saharanpur, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Aligarh, Noida, Hathras, Etawah, Auraiya, Banda, and Chitrakoot are also expected to receive rainfall. Sporadic rain may also occur in Unnao, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Allahabad, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Chandauli.


Haridwar Kanwar Yatra Update


In light of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, schools in the Haridwar region will remain closed until August 2, following orders from the District Magistrate. The schools will resume regular schedules after the yatra.
