Bijnor: The government has banned Kanwar Yatra in Uttarakhand due to the pandemic. If any Kanwar Yatra traveler enters Haridwar, action will be taken against the traveler under the Disaster Management Act. The travelers will be kept in isolation for 14 days.


Monitoring decision


The administration said that on Saturday, a meeting of the coordination committee of both the states was held in Chidiyapur on the border of Bijnor and Haridwar. Given the ban on Kanwar Yatra in Uttarakhand, it has been decided to monitor the borders of both states to prevent the entry of Kanwar Yatris in Haridwar. It was also decided to install CCTV cameras between Najibabad Tehsil, and Haridwar.


14 days quarantine


Haridwar administration said that if any Kanwar traveler enters Haridwar in violation of the order, he will be kept in isolation for 14 days in Haridwar and action will be taken against him under the Disaster Management Act.


The administration said that Hari ki Pauri will be sealed during the journey. The Bijnor administration said that the Kanwar Yatra in Uttar Pradesh will be held symbolically, as per the coronavirus guidelines.
