New Delhi: A woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Noida was detained by the police for questioning on Sunday after a video of her surfaced on social media where she could be seen heckling a security guard of the high rise building she resided at. The video where she can be seen misbehaving and abusing the security guard has gone viral on social media with people calling out the woman for her act.
“Woman in Jaypee Wish Town, Noida, captured on video abusing a security personnel of the society has been detained for questioning. Enquiry underway,” said the Noida Police.
“Legal action has already been initiated in the matter,” said Noida DM, Suhas L Yathiraj, quoted by news agency ANI.
As per the ANI report, the woman has been booked under the Indian Penal Code Sections 153A, 323, 504, 505(2), and 506.
The FIR was registered against the woman after the guard had given an application to the Police, society secretary Ankit Kuchhal told the news agency adding that the lady was staying since 3-4 months on rent. "We have contacted the owner of her flat and necessary actions by the society will be taken," he said.
The matter has also been highlighted by Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal who shared the video on her Twitter profile and urged the Noida police to take action against the woman.
“This woman is openly abusing this guard with so much hooliganism and abusing. What kind of vulgarity is this? Strict action is necessary against this woman,” Maliwal tweeted tagging Noida Police.
As per ABP News report, the woman caught on tape, Bhavya Roy is a lawyer by profession who did not respond to the questions by reporters while being taken into custody by the police.
According to the report, the woman who was under the influence of intoxication got upset when the guard took a long while to open society’s gate for her following which she started abusing and harassing the guard.
