A 22-year-old man was allegedly beaten up by the family members of the girl he loved in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Atiya Rasulpur village in Unnao when Sajan Lodhi, a resident of Atiya Rasulabad village in the Asiwan police station area of Unnao, visited his girlfriend on Sunday. Tragically, the next day, Monday, his body was found hanging from a noose in a mango tree, located about two hundred metres from his girlfriend's residence. The family of the deceased has levelled accusations against the girl's family, alleging both murder and the subsequent hanging of his body.
The post-mortem examination revealed signs of physical abuse with a stick, indicating injuries on the right shoulder and hand. However, the official cause of death was confirmed as hanging. The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the case.
Lodhi had visited his girlfriend, but upon being discovered by her family, he endured a physical assault and did not return home thereafter. On Monday morning, his lifeless body was discovered hanging from a tree in Shivkumar's mango orchard in Hasnapur.

Villagers who came across the distressing scene promptly informed the deceased's family after finding the body in the fields.
Rajeshwar Tripathi, the station incharge, noted that the deceased's family has not yet filed a formal complaint, and the post-mortem has been concluded. Subsequent actions will be contingent on the findings outlined in the post-mortem report.

Further action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report. Deceased Sajan, his father’s family and his girlfriend were all employed in a brick kiln in Makhi district. The couple fell in love but the boy’s family was not ready for the marriage.
