Tensions erupted in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur after a man was killed in a scuffle between two groups allegedly over bike collision. The victim identified as Irshad suffered head injuries in the scuffle and was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Heavy police deployment was seen in the area as tensions prevailed overnight, reported PTI. 


"Police received information that a person named Irshad was lying injured near Luhari Market.  Bahadurgarh Police instantly reached the spot and Irshad was taken to the CHC where he succumbed to his injuries," said Hapur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma. 


"The investigation revealed that a scuffle broke out between Irshad and another group over bike collision, in which Irshad suffered head injuries. The situation in the village is under control," he added. 






On Tuesday, a clash broke out in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district between two groups belonging to different communities during a Durga idol immersion procession, police said, as per another PTI report. 


The situation was immediately brought under control in the Srinagar area of the district and three people were detained, they said, adding that the procession later continued and the idol was immersed peacefully. 


"The incident took place when the procession was going through the Srinagar area and people were throwing 'gulaal' at each other... A person of another community was watching the procession and the coloured powder fell on him to which he objected and a fight broke out," Superintendent of Police, Mahoba, Aparna Gupta said.


The official said there was no law and order problem and that further legal action is underway.
