New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday issued guidelines to officials to maintain law and order and communal harmony in view of Sharadiya Navratri (Navratri 2021), Vijayadashmi (Dussehra) and Chelum.
According to an official statement issued on Sunday, in accordance with the directions given by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the Review Meeting of Covid-19 on Sunday, the state government has issued guidelines this year to maintain law and order and communal harmony in view of Sharadiya Navratri, Vijayadashmi, Dussehra and Chelum.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avnish Kumar Awasthi in a directive sent to police and administrative officials has asked them to ensure strict compliance of the instructions given to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic on the occasion of Navratri, Durga Puja and Vijayadashmi, Dussehra and staging of Ramleela and Chelum
The directions issued by Awasthi stated that while allowing the construction of Durga Puja Pandal and Ramleela stage, care should be taken to ensure that public transport is not affected.
The idols should be installed in traditional way but at open spaces and kept as small as possible, with no more people than allowed capacity The order clearly states that as small sized vehicles should be used in the immersion of idols and only few people should participate in the idol immersion program.
