UP Assembly election 2022: While claiming that UP would become the frontrunner of development in the nation, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav's vision to win office in 2022 is just plain infatuation.
Maurya also took a jibe at Akhilesh Yadav along with Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra by commenting that they are only capable of doing politics in the world of Twitter. He said that when COVID-19 struck, no political workers or leaders from any political party, other than BJP, was seen helping the general public.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who travelled from the Circuit House in Meerut on Sunday to inaugurate projects worth millions for the districts of the division, claimed that growth has skyrocketed under Yogi Adityanath's government. "The coffers of the treasury are filling up, which has led development in the state to skyrocket," he said. Maurya inaugurated 201 projects worth Rs 3.7764 billion and laid the cornerstone for 179 projects worth Rs. 8.228 billion for six districts on Sunday.
Akhilesh and Mayawati are infatuating - Maurya
Regarding the upcoming assembly elections, Maurya said, "Akhilesh and Mayawati are infatuating about being in power. We plan to grow, while they plan to increase the caste divide." He claimed that Akhilesh Yadav will be unable to stop BJP's victory in the assembly elections by using hooliganism, and that BJP would be victorious not only in the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections but also in the national elections of 2024.
Samajwadi Party's performance was seen to be descent in UP's Panchayat elections held in April 2020. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav is excited and optimistic for the assembly elections as well. In a tweet, Akhilesh Yadav said that new political strategies on women and youth are being ideated and the 2022 UP Vidhan Sabha elections would be a democratic revolution. On the other hand, Bahujan Samaj Party has announced that it will contest alone in UP.
