A stone pelting incident occurred between two groups of men over a cricket match in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah on Sunday, as reported by the news agency ANI. According to ASP Rural, the incident was triggered by a discussion of a cricket match that took place on Saturday.
Speaking on the incident, ASP Singh said, "There were two parties in which stone pelting took place. The two parties had scuffles earlier as well on the basis of the cricket team. They had a match again on Saturday, and the discussions of Saturday's match triggered the stone pelting incident of Sunday," as quoted by the news agency ANI.
"Action has already been taken, now a case will be filed against the accused. No shots were fired. Stones were pelted at each other but no one got hurt," ASP added. Informing about the arrest of the accused, ASP Singh said, "Some have been arrested and those who are left will also be arrested soon. A case will be registered against the accused under serious sections". Further investigation into the matter is underway.
In another incident, stone pelting occurred between two groups in Jamshedpur on Sunday over the alleged desecration of a religious flag, ANI reported. According to the officials, the force has also been deployed in the entire area, and a company of Rapid Action Force (RAF) is also deployed.

Informing about the situation in the area, Prabhat Kumar, SSP Jamshedpur said, "The situation is under control. Those who had gathered have been sent home. The force has been deployed in the entire area, a company of RAF is deployed."
"Some people have also been detained," added SSP Kumar. Last week, a fresh incident of stone pelting was reported at the Vande Bharat Express from Visakhapatnam, informed officials on Thursday. This is the third incident of stone pelting in the last three months. According to officials, a coach window glass was broken due to the pelting of stones by miscreants.
