New Delhi: A dead body of a missing minor girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district was found by the police near a railway station, reported news agency ANI. The teenager from a village under Faizganj Behta police station in the district had gone to the Asafpur railway station after which she went missing and later her dead body was found by the police, reported ABP News.
The dead body has been sent for post-mortem and a case will be registered for further probe, said Badaun Senior Superintendent of Police, Om Prakash Singh.
Meanwhile, the girl’s family has alleged that she was raped and then murdered. The family also questioned the police investigation. The family has alleged that the police did not inform them and sent the dead body for post mortem despite the incident site being just a kilometre away from their village. The relatives also cast a doubt on the police who was on night duty at a nearby bank saying that they did not get to know about such a big incident taking place in their vicinity.
Speaking about the incident, SSP OP Singh said that the village head had given information about the dead body of a teenage girl in the forest behind Asafpur railway station under Faizganj Behta police station of Badaun district.
On receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and sent the body to Badaun district for post-mortem. Victim’s relatives have also been sent for identification. After registering the case at Faizganj Behta police station, strict action will be taken according to whatever facts will come out in the post-mortem.
