New Delhi: Bugles have been blown for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections. Former Chief Ministers - Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati - and their parties SP and BSP, Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM all have started campaigning heavily on the ground in order to woo voters of the 403 member Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The ruling BJP is also campaigning but for the most time is on the drawing board chalking up alliances in order to bolster their chances.
In the midst of this, ABP News has learned Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally kick start BJP's UP Election campaign on September 14.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Aligarh on September 14 to lay the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Singh State University. During this tour of Uttar Pradesh, BJP's star campaigner Narendra Modi will also be addressing a political rally.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the state of Uttar Pradesh again on September 26 as he will be part of an Urban Conclave to be held in Lucknow.
Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Ayodhya to celebrate Diwali.
BJP also announced the names of the in-charges for the assembly elections states going to poll in the first half of the next year. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been made the election in charge of UP. Anurag Thakur, Saroj Pandey, and Arjun Ram Meghwal will be the BJP's co-election in charge in UP.
In Uttarakhand, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has been made the election in-charge. Lok Sabha MP Locket Chatterjee will be as co-in-charge along with national spokesperson Sardar RP Singh.
Last year, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet had cleared a proposal to set up a new university in Aligarh, named after Mahendra Pratap Singh.
