New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu alleged that those who consider the party weak are doing it purposely under an agenda. He said the election pundits don't realise the strength of Congress and are under some misunderstanding.

Addressing a party meeting in Lucknow today, Ajay Kumar Lallu said such people "do not know anything about the groundwork laid by Congress".

After the end of the 'Prashikshan Se Parakram' (power from training) campaign, Lallu said that this time BJP is "not facing heat" from Samajwadi Party (SP) nor BSP, it is only Congress "the main opposition for BJP" in the upcoming UP Assembly Polls.

'Prashikshan Se Parakram' Campaign

700 training camps were organized in the 'Prashikshan Se Parakram' campaign. In these training camps, the "disruptive policies" of the BJP and the RSS were explained. Priyanka Gandhi also addressed several such events through video conferences.

The Congress may make strong claims, but the fact remains that the party is scattered as an organization and is considered weak amongst the people as compared to the rest of the parties.

The party experimented in every way but nothing could be achieved. The reality is that Congress was able to save only the Rae Bareli seat in the last Lok Sabha elections. Even Rahul Gandhi lost the election from Amethi.

Aditi Singh In Rebel Mood

The party had contested the last assembly elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party, but the Congress suffered there as well. The party could not even touch the 10-seat mark.

Only 7 Congress MLAs were elected out of which 2 are looking in a rebellious mood. The biggest blow received by the party was in Rae Bareli where MLA Aditi Singh "does not like anything in the Congress".

This time the Congress is preparing to contest the UP Polls on its own. The party has been out of power in UP for the last three decades. Now there are high expectations from Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress General Secretary, and also the UP in charge.

The Congress party has been continuously conducting programs against the Modi and Yogi governments. But as of today, Congress does not have its own social base according to the votes.
