Samajwadi Party's (SP) state executive meeting will take place on Wednesday, for the first time since it was formed in August this year, with a focus on the caste survey and 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. SP chief had dissolved the party's state and national executives after its defeat in the 2022 Assembly polls. It was then formed in August this year and will meet to discuss strategies as well as ways to bolster the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Samajwadi Party national secretary and spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary told news agency PTI that the Lok Sabha polls, caste survey and ways to strengthen the party's support base among the backwards, Dalits and minority (which Yadav together refers to as PDA) will be discussed in the meeting.

Chaudhary said that Akhilesh Yadav will be sharing the mantra for victory in the Lok Sabha elections as the party aims to defeat the BJP on all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Talking about SP's preparation for next year's polls, he said that they are working continuously and fighting on issues of public interest. He said the party organisation is being streamlined and is being formed at the booth levels.

I.N.D.I.A Bloc Is 'Certainly' For Lok Sabha Elections

When asked if the Samajwadi Party will be a part of the I.N.D.I.A coalition in the general elections, Chaudhary said the alliance is "certain" for the Lok Sabha polls. Recently, SP and Congress were face-to-face over seat sharing for the Madhya Pradesh polls.

"There is an alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. That is certain," the SP spokesperson told PTI.

He accused the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh of neglecting every section of the society. He claimed that the condition of farmers in the state has become very bad. "Paddy is not being procured. The dues of sugarcane farmers are still outstanding. The farmers of Uttar Pradesh are devastated and the youth are not getting employment," the Samajwadi Party leader said, as quoted by PTI.

"Whatever work seen on the ground was done by Akhilesh Yadav during the SP rule," Chaudhary said, adding that no work was done in the state in the past six years of CM Yogi Adityanath's rule.
