The Samajwadi Party chief slammed the BJP-led Centre while addressing the media. When asked about the Modi government completing 9 years, Yadav said now that it has completed 9 years in governance, the government has become “10 numbari”, further questioning its achievements. '10 Numbari' colloquially refers to someone who is a habitual offender or has questionable character. The remarks came as voting for the byelection to two vacant seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for which both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP) have fielded candidates began in Lucknow on Monday.

Yadav asked the government that it had promised "several All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Uttar Pradesh, but how many have they really built? They talked about making Smart Cities, how many Smart Cities exist right now?"

Yadav slammed the Centre stating that the National Highways Authority of India didn’t pay for the expressway as it should have, he questioned why Uttar Pradesh hasn’t received the money for the project.

Talking about electricity, he asked why the quota for power in UP hasn’t been increased, as the government had promised.

He urged the media to question the BJP government on why the electricity quota hasn’t been increased, why there aren’t more AIIMS in the state, and why the state isn’t receiving money for the roads and expressways built. He asked how much land has been reserved for the smart citiy project and urban development. Yadav also mentioned soil waste management under smart city development and remarking that the Centre hasn’t done anything.

“The rivers are dying, money was taken in the name of Namami Gange but where did they use it? What answer do they have for it? ”

“If the state gets cheaper electricity, the people of Uttar Pradesh wouldn’t have to suffer as much”.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) completed its nine years of power at the Centre on Friday and held press conferences in all state capitals on Monday. According to ANI, the Union Ministers will hold press conferences in the BJP-ruled states along with the CMs.

They will also give a presentation based on all the achievements of the Modi government in nine years. They will also interact informally with the media people of the state, reported ANI. Where there is no BJP government, the BJP state president along with central government ministers will address the press, it added.

Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday took a dig at the BJP and said that the issues of inflation and public loot came up in the course of nine years.

The Congress president took to Twitter and said that the nine years of BJP's power over the nation had done nothing but brought issues like inflation, spoilt budget, and public loot to the fore.

He claimed that during the nine years, the BJP was in power, the party plundered public funds, affected all vital goods with the Goods and Service Tax, and gave the people a difficult way of life.
