New Delhi: The process to raze Supertech’s illegal 40-storey twin towers can be initiated from February 20 and the resources to start the demolition can be mobilised immediately, said the Noida Authority following a meeting with stakeholders of the project.
This meeting came within 48 hours of the order by the Supreme Court where it directed the Noida authority to begin the demolition process of the twin towers within two weeks, reports PTI.
The meeting was presided over by Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari with the departments whose No Objection Certificate (NOC) were required by the agency responsible for demolishing the towers, Edifice Engineering, news agency PTI reported.
Representatives of Paschimchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), UP Pollution Control Board, Police Department, Fire Department, district administration, Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization, Traffic Police, Emerald Court society's Resident Welfare Association, ATS Village Apartment Owners' Association, Supertech and Edifice Engineering were present in the meeting.
"NOC has been granted by all these with certain conditions and suggestions. The Noida CEO expects Edifice Engineering to follow these conditions and suggestions in letter and spirit," the Noida Authority stated.

"Edifice Engineering has informed that after site inspection and detailed discussions with the officials of GAIL, it is satisfied the demolition will not have any adverse impact on the pipeline. It was also apprised by the company that permission for purchase, storage, and transportation of explosives under the Explosives Act would be obtained by it soon," it added.
The Edifice Engineering had informed the meeting that certain NOCs regarding storage, transportation, and use of explosives were pending which they will obtain from the government departments within seven days.
Located in Sector 93 A's Supertech Emerald Court Society, the Supreme Court, in August last year, had ordered the demolition of the illegal structures within three months as the builders violated building bye-laws.
