New Delhi: As the election campaigning nears an end in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the final phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Varanasi Cantt. railway station on Friday night. 


During his visit, he also interacted with the shopkeepers at the railway station. In the video shared by news agency ANI, he can be seen walking around the railway station in a saffron-coloured shawl and asking the shopkeepers a few questions about their business.






Earlier on Friday, PM Modi had held a roadshow in Varanasi where he enjoyed tea with his party members at a small tea stall. The 3.5 km long roadshow passed through Lahurabir Kabir Chaura, Maidagin, and Chauk area and culminated near the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The roadshow covered three Assembly segments of Cantonment, Varanasi North and Varanasi South.


After drinking tea, he was also seen trying his hands on a percussion instrument called ‘damru’.


On Saturday, PM Modi will have another rally in Varanasi (Gramin). He will address the Vishal Jan Sabha at 12:45 PM in the afternoon. 


Saturday is the last day for election campaigning and rallies. The final and seventh phases of polling will take place on March 7, Monday in Uttar Pradesh. As per the Model Code of Conduct, election campaigning has to stop at least 48 hours before the elections. The election rallies will conclude today at 6 PM.


Uttar Pradesh assembly elections have taken place in seven phases in 2022. The results of the same will be declared on March 10.
