During his visit to Uttarakhand, PM Modi will dedicate the Jolly Grant Airport Terminal and inaugurate the Oxygen Plant at Rishikesh AIIMS. Sources say that the Prime Minister may also visit Kedarnath Dham.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also visit his native village Peetsan in Uttarakhand on October 1 to unveil a statue and memorial of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali.

Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, who was a havaldar in the Royal Garhwal Rifles, is regarded as the hero of the 1930 Peshawar scandal across Uttarakhand. He refused to fire at unarmed Pathans fighting for India's independence, rejecting the British order.
Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said the Defence Minister will also distribute interest-free loan cheques up to Rs 5 lakh among women Self Help Groups on the occasion and launch the Ghasiari (Mower) Welfare Project. Under the scheme, 25000 women will be distributed equipment-containing Ghasiari kits.
