New Delhi: Preparations are in full swing for the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony for Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh on November 25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to be a part of this event in Jewar.


In an exclusive interview with ABP Ganga, Yamuna Authority CEO Dr. Arun Veer Singh said, "November 25 would be a historic day as Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be performing the 'Bhoomi Pujan' for Noida International Airport," adding, "the first flight from the new airport would take off within 1095 days from October 1, 2021."


Meanwhile, the authorities have started their security exercises ahead of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visit in Jewar on Tuesday to take stock of the preparations. 


Airport to have five runways


Noida International Airport will have its first runway ready by 2024. According to sources, the first two runways will be ready by 2024. The Noida International Airport would have five runways in total. No parking areas have been set up ahead of the Chief Minister's program and toilets have also been provided in view of convenience for the people.


Airport to be built across 5,000 hectares of land


The Yamuna Authority had reserved 5,000 hectares of land for the Jewar airport. Out of this, 1,334 hectares of land have already been acquired and are being used during the first phase of the airport construction. In the second phase, the State Cabinet has approved the acquisition proposal for 1,365 hectares of land for the purpose of airport expansion. The land reserved for the airport would be acquired in four phases.


PM Modi's arrival brings joy to people


Local MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh said, "People are very excited on the arrival of the Prime Minister. A huge crowd is expected to give him a massive welcome. Looking at the excitement of people, it is expected to be a historic program. We are expecting to see lakhs of people gather here to listen to the speech of PM Modi. He added, "Thanks to this development project, lakhs of people are expected to get employment. Western Uttar Pradesh is expected to get enriched with this development."


Grand and historic event


Thakur Dhirendra Singh said, "District officials and BJP workers are working day and night to make this 'Bhoomi Pujan' program historically grand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a huge public gathering on that day. We are expecting lakhs of people to be present for the event. Preparations for the event are expected to be completed by the morning of November 25."


Security Arrangements Beefed Up In UP


Security arrangements have been tightened in view of PM Narendra Modi's arrival. Paramilitary forces have been deployed at every corner to support the state police and PAC personnel. About 4,000 policemen would be deployed for Prime Minister's safe arrival and stay in the state. A three-layer security escort has been prepared right from the parking lot to the site of 'Bhoomi Pujan'.


According to BJP's Amit Kumar, "The inspection team has arrived at the site today. In a meeting with officials and security personnel, they would be discussing the blueprint for security. The security cover is being prepared as per instructions from the SPG."
