Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the three-day Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow today in the presence of UP Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.


The mega event will end on February 12 and is expected to witness the presence of several ministers of the Union and the state government and a host of leading industrialists.


Speaking at the event, Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries said, "Reliance plans to invest an additional Rs 75,000 crores in the next four years across Jio, retail and renewable businesses in UP, creating an additional over 1 lakh jobs in the state."


He added, "Jio will complete its roll-out of 5G to cover every town and village in Uttar Pradesh by December of 2023."


Hailing this year's budget, he said, "This year's budget has laid the foundation for India's emergence as a developed nation. It stands out for its highest-ever resource allocation for building the foundation for the country's growth in terms of capital expenditure. India is on a very strong growth path."



Sanjay Mehta, CEO & MD, Hindustan Unilever, at UP Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow said, "UP is an important state for us. The help we receive from the govt here is outstanding. I advise investors to come to UP as the investment environment here is suitable and govt proactive."


Awanish K Awasthi, Advisor to CM Adityanath said, "I am very happy that we are getting to see such a big day in our lives when Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 is being held today. This summit is a step towards Uttar Pradesh becoming $1 Trillion economy."


Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said the whole world will see a new story of the state's development on the day. "The whole world will see a new story of UP's development on Friday at the GIS 2023 to be held in the capital's Vrindavan. Within the state, there are innumerable investment opportunities," Yogi said.  The chief minister, who inaugurated various projects near Amausi Airport said the inauguration of projects worth 159 crores related to the capital a day earlier bears witness to this.


All delegates, investors, and participants in Global Investors Summit and G20 meeting in Lucknow will go through an RT-PCR Covid test, according to chief medical officer Manoj Agarwal.


“We've installed 24x7 running booths for RT-PCR in the district, including airports. Besides this, our mobile teams are placed to conduct the Covid test of the delegates and the open Covid-testing booths are open for everyone, participating in the events,” Agarwal told news agency ANI.
