Lucknow. The government does not want to leave any stone unturned to win the upcoming assembly elections. The Yogi government is also eyeing the Dalit votebank. The government is going to build a memorial of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in Lucknow to secure the Dalit votes. President Ram Nath Kovind will lay the foundation stone of the Ambedkar Memorial today. Let us inform you that on Friday, the cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had approved this proposal.


President Ram Nath Kovind is currently on a tour in UP. The President will lay the memorial foundation stone at 11 am in the Lok Bhavan auditorium located just opposite the assembly. CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel will also be present on this occasion. The memorial to be built in the name of Bhimrao Ambedkar will be named Ambedkar Cultural Center. 


45 crores is the estimated cost
A 25 feet statue of Babasaheb will be installed in the Ambedkar Cultural Center. The memorial will cost around Rs 45 crore. An auditorium, library and museum with a capacity of 750 people will also be built in this memorial.


President is on 5-day UP tour
The President, who was on a 5-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, reached Kanpur on June 25 by the Presidential Express train. After Kanpur, he is on a 2-day Lucknow tour. The President was in Kanpur for 3 days, where apart from meeting several dignitaries and eminent personalities, he also visited his native village Paraunkh in Kanpur Dehat on Sunday and interacted with his former acquaintances. He will leave for Delhi from Lucknow airport at 6.30 pm today.
