BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad constituency, Kunwar Sarvesh, passed away due to a heart attack in Delhi's AIIMS on Saturday, news agency ANI reported BJP MLA from Moradabad city Ritesh Gupta as confirming. PM Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed their condolences to the bereaved. Voting for the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls 2024 held on Friday (April 19, 2024). In the first phase, voting was held on 102 seats in 21 states and union territories. During this phase, Moradabad was also a part of the schedule.
In response to his death, PM Modi wrote on his social media X (formerly Twitter), "I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of BJP candidate from Moradabad Lok Sabha seat and former MP Kunwar Sarvesh Singh ji. He remained dedicated to public service and social service till his last breath. His demise is an irreparable loss for the party. I pray to God to give strength to his family to bear this deep grief. Om Shanti!"
UP CM Yogi Adityanath also wrote, " I am shocked by the demise of BJP candidate from Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency and former MP Kunwar Sarvesh Singh ji. This is an irreparable loss for the BJP family. My condolences are with the bereaved family. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed soul in his feet and provide strength to the bereaved family and their supporters to bear this loss."
BJP MLA from Moradabad, Ritesh Gupta says, "This is very unfortunate news that Moradabad Lok Sabha candidate Kunwar Sarvesh passed away in AIIMS Delhi. According to his family, he suffered a heart attack. This is very sad news for Moradabad... I will pray to god that he gives strength to his family in these difficult times," ANI reported.
After the voting, Kunwar Sarvesh expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the voters of the Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency who he said enthusiastically voted in favour of the BJP.
He wrote on his X, "I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the respected voters of Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency for enthusiastically participating in the great festival of democracy and voting in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party!"
