New Delhi: A video of Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate from Budaun, Shivpal Yadav, has stirred controversy after it went viral on social media. In the video, Yadav can be heard purportedly stating, "We will seek everyone's vote. If you vote for us, it is all right, otherwise, the matter will be settled later." Although the location and date of Yadav's remarks remain unclear.

In the video, Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from Sahaswan Brajesh Yadav and Shivpal's son are also seen on the stage along with him. However, SP MLA Brajesh Yadav refuted the allegations, saying, the video has been presented after twisting its content, reported news agency PTI.

The video of Shivpal Yadav, reportedly recorded on March 15 during his visit to Gunnaur, has been traced to the Bilsi assembly constituency in Budaun.

The Budaun District Magistrate, Manoj Kumar, confirmed that the video is under investigation, with the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh seeking information regarding its contents, as per PTI. Shivpal Yadav, currently serving as an SP MLA from Jaswantnagar in Etawah district, faces scrutiny as Budaun gears up for the Lok Sabha elections in the third phase on May 7.
