New Delhi: BJP National President J P Nadda on Sunday appreciated the contribution of doctors in tackling the coronavirus and said the BJP will prepare four lakh volunteers to tackle the possible third wave of infection.

Addressing doctors at SNJ Gold on Fatehabad Road in Agra, Nadda said: "There are many doctors in my family, so I know the woes of doctors. The doctor works for those who are struggling with life and death. All of you deserve appreciation for the way all of you have served humanity amidst the coronavirus.''

He felicitated the doctors on the occasion. "I realise what must have been the condition of the families of doctors who come back through the coronavirus ward every day for the last one and a half years," the BJP national president said. He said the BJP is preparing four lakh volunteers as part of its preparations to deal with the possible third wave of infection. Nadda said the government formulated a health policy in 2017 under which every person above 45 years of age will be screened. "Health centers have been set up in 80,000 villages and by 2022 we will set up 1.5 lakh health centers," he said.

Meanwhile, the BJP held a meeting of the functionaries in the Braj area in Agra to prepare for the 2022 assembly elections. At an organizational meeting at Hotel Taj Vilas, Nadda asked the officials of the Braj area to strengthen the party at the booth level.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the development work undertaken in Braj. He said that a super specialty wing will be set up at SN Medical College in Agra. Party state unit president Swatanter Dev Singh directed the office bearers to strengthen the party at the booth level and enthusiastically carry out the proposed programs of the organization.
