'Devotees Are Upset': Pilgrims, Congress Question Govt Over Char Dham Yatra Preparations

Char Dham Yatra News: Congress alleges that there is no preparation for the Char Dham yatra of the government. Devotees are facing trouble.

New Delhi: Char Dham Yatra started in Uttarakhand on September 18. The number of devotees visiting the dhams has been restricted on the order of the court. Meanwhile, the pilgrim priests questioned the arrangements of the Devasthanam Board. On the other hand, the opposition has also said that if the government had pleaded properly in the court, the number of passengers going to all four dhams every day could increase in numbers. However, the government has shirked its responsibilities by starting the yatra in very limited numbers. 

Deliberate disruption caused in travel 

The opposition also said that if the government's preparations were complete, they would have pleaded for a visit to the court. But, the government itself has disrupted the journey. The government does not have the preparations for the trip.

Meanwhile, pilgrim priests have raised questions about the arrangements for the Devasthan Board and the limited number of pilgrims. Congress has also accused the government's system. Congress says the government has deliberately disrupted the yatra, with no preparations for the visit.

Congress State President Ganesh Godial said the government wants to start the yatra with a limited number and make history. The number could have been increased if the government pleaded in court, but they did not. The pilgrim priests had refused when the numbers in Char Dham yatra were limited and the priests also said that there is not enough devasthanam board for the yatra.

Devotees from all over the country are facing difficulties. There is deep resentment among the pilgrim priests, priests and local traders of Chardham over this. They demanded that the obligation of the passengers that set the number should be removed. 

Chardham Yatra started on September 18 in Uttarakhand. This time the number of devotees going to all four dhams has been restricted. 800 devotees are visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath Ji 1000, Gangotri 600 while Yamunotri 400 devotees are visiting in a day. Taking Covid into consideration, the number of passengers in the four dhams has been restricted on the order of the court.
