The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Saturday suspended its Member of Parliament, Danish Ali, for purportedly engaging in anti-party activities. In response to the suspension, Danish Ali termed the party's decision as unfortunate. He said he consistently opposed the "anti-people policies" of the BJP government and he was ready to face any consequences for doing so.

He expressed gratitude towards BSP leader Mayawati for the opportunities provided to him. He said, "I will always be thankful to Sister Mayawati for giving me the BSP ticket, enabling me to become a Member of Parliament. She not only made me a leader of the BSP parliamentary party but also showed immense affection and support. Today's decision is unfortunate."

Ali, who represented Amroha constituency, emphasised his commitment to strengthening the BSP and claimed to have worked diligently towards that goal. He stated, "I have worked hard and dedicated myself to strengthening the BSP, and I have never engaged in any anti-party activities. The people of Amroha can testify to this fact."

Highlighting his opposition to the policies of the BJP government, Ali asserted, "I have consistently opposed the anti-people policies of the BJP government and will continue to do so. I have raised my voice against the loot of public wealth by a few capitalists because that is true public service. If this is a crime, then I have committed it, and I am ready to face the consequences."

Despite the suspension, Ali assured the people of Amroha that he would remain available for their service. He also reiterated the remarks during a press conference.

Earlier, the BSP issued a statement accusing Ali of repeatedly violating party discipline despite verbal warnings.

The BSP's statement read, "You have been repeatedly told not to indulge in any statements or actions against the party's policies, ideology, and discipline. However, despite this, you have continuously been involved in activities against the party. After receiving assurance from you, you were given the BSP membership, and it was expected that you would abide by all the party's policies and work in the party's interest. However, it is now regrettable that you are involved in anti-party activities."
