Ayodhya Decked Up For Deepotsav. Set To Create World Record By Lighting 12 Lakh Diyas Today

Deepotsav in Ayodhya: On the occasion of Chhoti Diwali, the Yogi government will set a world record by lighting more than 12 lakh diyas in Ayodhya today.

Deepotsav in Ayodhya: Ayodhya will be lit to the grandest on the occasion of Deepotsav. Temples, local markets, houses, and big buildings have been decorated for the huge event. Diyas will illuminate the holy city of Ayodhya today on the occasion of Chhoti Diwali. This time, the Yogi administration is looking forward to set the world record by lighting 12 lakh diyas. Out of this, 9 lakh diyas will be lit on Ram ki Paidi ghat on the banks of River Saryu and 3 lakh diyas will be lit at the various 'math' of Ayodhya. The Guinness Book of World Records team has also reached Ayodhya to witness the event.

Significantly, all the earthen lamps (diyas) should be lit for at least 5 minutes to set a world record.  CM Yogi Adityanath is also likely to reach Ayodhya city by 2 pm today. He will perform Saryu Aarti on Ram ki Paidi ghat around 5:20 pm at the time of sunset. This will be followed by a grand event on Ram ki Paidi from 6 pm. 

5 earthen lamps from each village will be lit

The local people of Ayodhya are excited to witness the grand event on the banks of River Saryu. The 5-day Deepotsav event began with a cultural programme on Monday. Today, i.e. November 3, is the main event because of the Chhoti Diwali. For this event, 5 earthen lamps provided from every village in the state will be lighted in Ayodhya.

Security Tightens For Event:
Tight security arrangements have also been made for the 5-day Deepotsav event in the holy city of Ayodhya. Police personnel has been deployed at every corner. Barricades have also been put up at various places. Also, the road from Naya Ghat to Ram ki Paidi has been blocked. Barricades have been put up on both sides and no one is allowed to go from New Ghat to Ram ki Paidi. Commute on the old bridge over Saryu has also been stopped. 

Deepotsav started in 2017:

Deepotsav was first celebrated by CM Yogi Adityanath in 2017. Deepotsav was initially organized with 51,000 diyas. This was followed by Deepotsav in 2019 that witnessed the lighting of 4 lakh earthen lamps. In 2020, more than 6 lakh diyas were illuminated on the banks of River Saryu. Now, in 2021, the Yogi Adityanath administration is planning to set the world record by lighting more than 12 lakh diyas for this event.
