Two suspects allegedly involved in the murder of Umesh Pal have been killed during a police operation in Jhansi. Asad, son of mafia Atiq Ahmad, and shooter Ghulam, son of Maksudan, have been killed in an encounter. The encounter took place in Jhansi during an operation led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Navendu and DySP Vimal from the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UPSTF), who also seized foreign-made weapons.
Further details about the incident are currently under investigation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been briefed on the situation and has requested a report from the Special Task Force. The Chief Minister is personally monitoring the case, according to Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary Home.

Meanwhile, pictures from the encounter site have surfaced showing Asad and Ghulam near a bike shot dead by UP Police.
After the news of the encounter surfaced, the family of Umesh Pal expressed their gratitude towards Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
"I thank CM Yogi ji for serving justice and I appeal to him to give us justice ahead also. We have full faith in CM Shanti Devi," said Umesh Pal's mother.

UP Police has also issued a list of all the weapons and belongings recovered from Atiq Ahmad's son Asad and Ghulam's bodies after the encounter.
