New Delhi: The post-mortem report filed by panel of doctors in connection with Ankita Bhandari murder case has been found matching with the pieces of evidence collected by the Special Investigation Team probing the case, SIT in-charge Director General of Police, P Renuka Devi told news agency ANI on Monday.

"The evidence collected so far in the investigation of Ankita's murder are matching with the post-mortem report. There is nothing different between the two," said SIT in charge, DIG P Renuka Devi who is conducting the probe.

The DIG said that talks had been held with doctors regarding the post-mortem report, adding that the post-mortem has been videographed.

"The panel of doctors conducting the post-mortem has also been shown the scene of the incident. Reports have been taken from the doctors about both the spot and the post-mortem,” she said.

19-year-old Ankita Bhandari’s body was recovered from Chilla canal in Rishikesh by Uttarakhand administration on September 24 after she had gone missing for at least six days. She used to work as a receptionist at Vanantara resort.

Son of expelled BJP leader Vinod Arya, Pulkit Arya — Bhandari’s employer — was arrested in the case for allegedly pushing her into the canal following an altercation. Besides Pulkit Arya, two more people were arrested in connection with the case.

The incident had triggered widespread anger among the locals and others who staged protests in different parts of the state demanding action against the accused.

Constitution of the SIT to probe the matter was announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shortly after the incident was reported and Vinod Arya was also expelled from the party.

"After interrogating the witnesses related to the incident and the statement given by the accused- under police custody- it is found that all are matching among themselves", Renuka Devi said.
