All India Shia Personal Law Board will oppose the upcoming population control bill in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Soon a delegation will meet CM Yogi and submit its proposal in this regard. This decision has been taken in the executive meeting of the All India Shia Personal Law Board. In the meeting, resolutions were passed on other issues including the conversion law.

Population Control Bill Against Muslims

The General Secretary of the Board, Maulana Yasoob Abbas said that the population control law is against Muslims. "The (population control) laws are being targeted toward Muslims. Instead of bringing such laws, if attention is paid to education, then the population can be easily controlled. He also asked the Center to pay attention to this issue," he said.

Conversion Law

The issue of conversion law was also discussed in the All India Shia Personal Law Board meeting. Maulana Yasoob Abbas said that under the guise of this law, innocent people are also being implicated and arrested.

"Some try to defame Islam by taking the guise of conversion to tarnish the image of the religion. If someone is made a Muslim by force or greed, then it is against Islam. If someone cheats a sister or daughter by changing the name wrongly, then action is necessary. But, under the guise of this law, innocent people are also being arrested," he said.

"Muslims who are being framed on the issue are getting relief from the court which proves that they are being deliberately framed by vested interests," Board spokesperson Maulana Yasoob Abbas said.

UP Assembly Elections 2022

Regarding the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Yasoob Abbas said that "whoever thinks of us, we will be with them." However, he added that the bpard will not support any political party.

In the meeting, a proposal to boycott the former chairman of Shia Waqf Board Wasim Rizvi was also passed. Maulana Yasoob Abbas said that Islam is being insulted through Waseem Rizvi.
