Covid cases update: Uttarakhand is once again witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases. 11 officers at the Indian Forest Research Centre have been found infected with the virus. The Covid-19 cases in different districts of the state have raised concerns among the state government and the people. On Sunday, 7 policemen posted on duty for President Kovind's visit to the Rishikesh tested positive for Covid 19.
7 policemen who were on duty at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh during President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to the poll-bound state Uttrakhand were found infected with the virus during the tests conducted at Laxman Jhula Police Station by the Pauri health department. Three of them were on security duty from Chamoli district, two from Rishikesh, one from Rudraprayag, and one from Devprayag.
According to the health department, all the policemen from different districts were tested for RTPCR at the police station. Policemen found Covid-19 positive have been sent back for home quarantine.
The state government has also issued an alert across the state over the new 'Omicron' variant of Covid-19. Strict instructions have been issued to the district magistrates of the state to follow all the protocols of Covid-19. There have been reports of rising Covid-19 cases from different regions, after the confirmation of positive cases in 11 officers of the Indian Forest Research Centre. The state government has appealed to the people to follow all necessary rules and guidelines concerning the Covid-19 pandemic.
