New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday took a dig at the Congress party for the delay in releasing candidates' list in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

The BJP has so far released the names of 79 candidates in two separate lists for the 230-member House. The ruling party's first list of 39 candidates was released in August and the second list came out on Monday (September 25).

However, the Congress, the main opposition in the state, is yet to release its candidate list for the crucial poll.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took a jibe at the Congress saying that the grand old party is not able to comprehend what is happening in the state and asserted that BJP will win the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh.

"The Congress is perturbed, they can't comprehend what is happening. BJP is on its way to victory," says Madhya Pradesh CM

Meanwhile, responding to a query on BJP having released its second list of candidates, while the Congress is yet to release its first list, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "We will do it (release list of candidates) comfortably since we are certain (of victory in the upcoming MP Assembly polls). Those who are nervous, let's see what all they do."

The Congress has its tail up after defeating the BJP first in Himachal Pradesh in a close contest and then in Karnataka in a landslide, following a series of reverses it has suffered at the hands of the ruling party. Its leader Rahul Gandhi had recently claimed that his party is certainly winning in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh are likely to be held at the end of the year.
