New Delhi: A 17-year-old student hanged herself at her home in Ayyampatti village near Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu, as reported by news agency ANI. "We are investigating and have registered a case in this regard," said Virudhunagar district SP to ANI. This is the fourth such instance in the state this month.
Earlier on Monday, a Class XII student hanged herself to death in the hostel of a government-aided school at Kilacheri in the Thiruvallur district. Regarding the suicide in Cuddalore, the SP said that the student committed suicide at her home due to domestic issues.
The student had a rift with her mother and in a fit of fury, she entered her room and committed suicide, said the Cuddalore district superintendent of Police to IANS.

On July 13 a Class 12 student in Kallakurichi jumped to death from the third floor of the hostel of a private school. The suicide led to violence in Kallakurichi with hundreds of protesters vandalizing the school building, torching school buses, burning a police vehicle, and destroying and burning down several two-wheelers on July 17.
The intense stone and bottle pelting against the police injured senior IPS officers, including Inspector General of Police, B. Pandyan, and Superintendent of Police, R. Selvakumar.
To ascertain the facts and to report to the home department, the Chief Minister sent a reality-finding team involving the state police chief and the home secretary.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the factors leading to the suicides of these three girls.
