After a canopy at the passenger pickup and drop area outside the Rajkot airport terminal in Gujarat collapsed on Saturday, the opposition criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government saying that after the Delhi airport incident another "picture of 'development' has emerged in Rajkot".
In a post on X, the Congress said, "Third airport accident in three days. Now the picture of 'development' has emerged in Rajkot. This airport was inaugurated by Narendra Modi – just 1 year ago." The latest incident comes a day after a similar incident at the Delhi airport killed a person and injured six. This is the third such incident in as many days.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took a swipe at PM Modi over the Rajkot Airport canopy collapse incident saying that he should tell the people how much money he has taken and has given to his friends.
"Another picture of corruption of Modi government came out ‼️ After Jabalpur Airport, Indira Gandhi Airport, now the roof collapsed in the passenger Pick Up & Drop area outside the terminal of Rajkot Airport. Mr Prime Minister, Please tell the people of the country where and how much you ate and fed your friends? So that the general public does not go there and put their lives in danger," the AAP said in a post on X.
The Rajkot incident was the third airport terminal canopy collapse in three days. On Thursday, the canopy of the newly inaugurated Dumna airport terminal in Jabalpur collapsed. The Jabalpur airport building was inaugurated by PM Modi on March 10 this year.
