New Delhi: A drone was recovered near the international border in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Sunday, news agency PTI reported a Border Security Force (BSF) official as saying. In separate incidents, over three kilograms of heroin was seized from Ferozepur and Amritsar.
According to the report, based on a tip-off, the BSF troops and the Punjab Police launched a joint search operation on the outskirts of Lakhna village in Tarn Taran, during which they recovered a quadcopter drone in a plastic bag in a well.
"On specific input, @BSF_Punjab and @PunjabPoliceInd recovered 03 packets of heroin, gross weight 3 kgs appx, from a farming field near Village Machiwara, #Ferozepur, Punjab," the BSF said on X, formerly Twitter.
According to a BSF official, 530 grams of heroin was also recovered from Dhanoe Kalan village in Amritsar.
Terror Module Busted By Punjab Police Ahead Of I-Day
Ahead of Independence Day, Punjab Police busted a terror module and arrested three persons on Sunday, new agency. According to Punjab police chief Gaurav Yadav, the arrested accused were associates of Czech Republic Gurdev Singh, a key operative of Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh.

Taking to X, the police chief wrote, “Punjab Police has busted a terror module in a joint operation of Counter Intelligence and Tarn Taran Police with the arrest of the associates of Czech-based Gurdev Singh, a key operative of Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir and Satbir Singh who were behind the RPG attack on Police Station Sarhali and numerous plots to commit targeted killings in Punjab.”
Three pistols were also seized from them, police said.
